An Announcement From Patek Philippe
Patek Philippe has made an exciting announcement today.
To celebrate the completion of its new production building in Geneva, it has launched a limited-edition timepiece: the Calatrava Ref 6007A-001.
The new Patek Philippe building is an impressive 189 meters long, 67 meters wide, and 33 meters tall with 10 floors. It features large-format glazing to allow daylight to come through in abundance.
Construction of Patek Philippe’s new production building began in 2015 and the highly modern building is now able to host all of the brand’s ateliers in the same place – a real strength for Patek as its expertise and complexity of its products only grows.
Inside, the spaces are divided into five different segments and separated by four staircases. The ground floor and the first floor are dedicated to production and manual finissage of movement parts (plates, bridges, wheels, form parts, etc.) and the second floor is machining, manual polishing, and the assembly of exterior watch parts (cases, bracelets) and gemsetting.
As well as producing the current collection of Patek Philippe watches, the ateliers at the new building also craft the inventory of spare parts needed by Customer Service. The restoration of antique timepieces takes place here, too.
To honour this outstanding new building, the iconic brand has released 1,000 Calatrava Ref 6007A-001 timepieces. These watches boast a 40 mm diameter and a sapphire-crystal caseback marked with a Calatrava cross and the “New Manufacture 2019” inscription.
With a calfskin strap and the self-winding caliber 324 S C movement, the Calatrava Ref 6007A-001 is an exceptional piece in Patek Philippe’s arsenal.
The Leonard Dews team is delighted by this announcement.
